General Project and Submission Lifecycles
Projects are the overarching containers into which Submissions are organized. In the Intake Log that preceded HICRIS, all Submissions are recorded independently. In HICRIS, Submissions are of two overarching types: Initial and Subsequent.
•Initial Submissions are Submissions that represent a new Project. Once accepted, an Initial Submission creates a new Project, and the Initial Submission becomes the first Submission in the new Project. Until accepted, the new Project is not created. All Submit types under the ‘Submit’ menu create an Initial Submission.
•Subsequent Submissions are those Submissions made in response to a SHPD request, or those Submissions made unsolicited to an existing Project using the ‘Project Supplement’ option in the Submit contextual menu.
